Question 2
I have represented youth by using a girlie famine look. This look fits into the basic stereotype of a teenage, working/middle class girl or woman. The picture helps this as there is a girl on the front so this automatically means that girls are mainly involved with the subjects on the front cover. Also, it shows this as my main topics are about ‘fashion and beauty tips’ and ‘hitting the beach’ this also is a good example of trying to show the gender and who it is mainly for. I chose to have the face of the artist that this month’s issue featured, standing in front of a white back ground. I chose to do this because every main stream fan knows who Rihanna is so this makes the magazine more appealing and attracts the reader’s eye. I also did this because she is from the local city. This way people can relate to the artist in their own way so they feel they can express themselves to her music. The expression in the artist face is almost a stereotypical rebellious look; this adds to trying to be different and also make my magazine challenge others. I used stripes on her face to back up the rebellious look to make it look intimidating. This also shows the stereotypical youth but gives it the impression that the artist is fearless. This will help reflect their music.
