question 5

Question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?

I kept my language quite formal with a little bit of slang though out my magazine. I added bits of slang so that it represented the age group of the magazine and attracts the eye so that the stereotyped average teenage girl didn’t think it was boring. I also wanted to make it approachable to the reader by what I wrote and how I made my titles stand out. I made my titles stand out by making them bright, bold and also on the top of the page which develops what is normally on a magazine, but I have also challenged this by using a much bigger image of just half of a face to try attract the target audience. My Font I have used is quite bold and very colourful, I have also challenged the media by using brighter colours like green and yellow as younger female magazines are normally lighter colours such as pink. This helps by trying to get the target audience to like different styles than just the stereotyped to e girlie ones. The other way i have addressed my magazine to the audience is by getting a recognisable face on the front of my magazine. By putting a picture of Rihanna on the front already makes it eye catching as every main stream fan wants to know about her so will automatically read the vibrant and exiting sub titles written about her. This also helps promote the magazine because she is a well known singer. Another way to help my magazine attract attention is by making my front cover quite busy but not too packed so that the reader can focus on what they want to see in the magazine. I also organised my main titles by making the categories go in order, the order goes in a music title to fashion, music and fashion. I done this so that if the reader was skimming down the page then this way they won’t be reading just about one subject so they will want to see what would come next instead of there being too much fashion or music titles.
