mood board

Mood Boards
The demographic profile of the target audience for my chosen magazine would roughly look something like this... the age I specified would be between 16 and 30 year olds. I made it this age group because this mood board is mainly for younger people as my mood board shows, Katy Perry, an iPod and clothing ranges like Abercrombie and Fitch. The gender would be female because it’s all about girl talk and stories that girls would be reading, the only thing that males would like about this magazine is the pictures on the front because they are of celebs that don’t have a lot of clothing on.  The region that people would live in would be in local towns to cities, I picked these areas because it would be for the more working and middle class people who would chose to read this particular magazine. There Marital Status would more likely to be single for the younger age however the people closer to their 30’s may be divorced. This magazine is all about people who are having troubles or like to read articles about the ‘sex tips’ like many working class magazines do. I think peoples social status’s for this magazine will be working to middle class (D-C1) because of their location and all the other reasons I have just been writing about because the media has stereotyped them so everyone in that category will like the magazine and this way you know what to expect or put in your magazine so that every girl in the D to C1 category will like this magazine. I think the type of people who would read this magazine would either be too young to drive/ learning or driving a car like a fiat 500 or for the older age a new Audi TT. This way, they are still modern cars and aren’t nasty cheap cars and I think it suits the targeted audience. I think that the people who would read this type of magazine would either still be living with their parents or living in an estate with a 3 bedroom house for the 30 year olds because

This magazine (NME) would have this layout because of its target audience would expect it. They would expect many pictures in this two page spread. They would also expect big bold titles to show off the artists that are featured in the magazine. The layout is set out like this because it is set out the same basically every week with the same techniques used like I have mentioned, bold text about artists, big picture with little ones dotted around the page and the information on the side bar.

Break down of cast, props setting, and location report of magazine.

For my magazine I will have to choose my location where I will take my pictures, what sort of theme they will have, like a brightly coloured theme or somewhere in a field. Who is going to be in my picture, will it be a group of people or just one person and what gender. I have chosen to take my pictures of just one girl in a patterned black and white back ground. She will be in the corner of the room and the camera angle will be looking down at her whilst she’s looking down towards the floor. I will use bright coloured writing so it stands out and I will use effects so that the magazine will be eye catching. My magazine is mainly aimed at girls so It will have elegant colours and font to set the theme.

Institutional data music magazine

NME has been around for 60 years and is a reliable and great product as a music magazine, well established brand as it is well known. They have a huge advantage as they know what their target audience would expect so can make it a great magazine with every issue.

This magazine called Vibe uses this layout for this magazine because it definitely suits its target audience. This is because this magazine is clearly for women, as it has a picture of a fashionable girl and her story witch is aimed at women it also shows this by the colours that the lady is wearing, very feminine and also the way the pager is set out like the title and what the writing also says. This is a good lay out for this magazine because it shows everything that a girl would want to find in this kind of magazine, also the pull quote explains the story in her words, which makes it more interesting and catching. The only thing about this magazine that I dislike is that the title for this article isn’t big enough for someone to look at it and read straight away, you have to read into the subtitle to know what who the article is about. The way they could improve this is by putting a big title at the top so the readers know instantly who it is about.
